Can I use my own drawing for the fitout?

Yes, it is possible to use your own drawing when handling fitouts through Affordable Fitouts. We can also use your drawings as a starting point for our construction set of drawings for any building permit application. This may involve adding in a reflected ceiling plan, elevations and site plan. We also work closely with Architects using their provided drawings.

How much does a fitout cost?

The cost of the fitout will vary depending on the size and requirements of the project. Our projects range is value from 5k to 1 million. All of our quotes are fully itemised and transparent so you can see exactly where the costs are being allocated to.

Yes, We do handle defits, demolition projects and make good projects. We are experienced in meeting tight deadlines with minimal disruption to your neighbouring tenancies.

Why should I engage a fitout builder for my fitout?

A commercial fitout requires a commercial fitout builder who has the experience and know how of running an internal fit out project. Domestic builders generally do not know (even if they claim they do) how to build metal stud walls (the partition systems used in offices), nor do they have the knowledge about the essential services (fire, electrical, mechancial) and finalising requirements for a building permit. To get the job done right, you are best to engage a commercial builder with experience in doing similar fit out works.

What if I have received a more competitive price?

Our pricing is very competitive however, if you do receive a cheaper quotation, please let us know. We often find that our competitors leave things of their quote or aren't quoting apples for apples which means you will often be stung for additional variations during the construction phase. Our quotes are fully itemised so you always know exactly what is included. We do our best to price all works to eliminate the surprise of additional variations along the way.

Can the project have additional costs during production?

You certainly can and we will endeavour to accommodate and work with you regarding any change request along the way, even after construction has started. We always strive, and succeed, in remaining within the planned budget, and we are constantly monitoring the ongoing costs to make sure no unexpected expense appears later on. If there is a possibility for any kind of surprise costs, we take it into account when preparing the initial quotes

Are your projects compliant with the Australian Standards for safety?

Yes, All our works are completed in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards. Our works are also certified by a building surveyor, giving you peace of mind.

When do I need to get town planning?

There are certain changes that trigger the need for town planning and each council often has specific requirements. these include but are not limited to:
  • Changing the existing shop front
  • Attaching signage to the exterior of the building
  • Changing the purpose of the building eg: from offices to medical centre
  • Changes to car parking requirements

What is an office defit?

An office defit or simply defit is the process of either partially or fully stripping out the current fitout in your workplace, often with the purpose of restoring it to its' original state, so that it may be either re-fitted or re-leased. Restoring your workplace to its' previous state, also referred to as "make good", can include:
  • Demolition
  • Floor removal
  • Painting
  • Plastering
  • Rectification works
  • Removal of any fixtures& fittings
  • Disconnection of services
  • Services reinstatement back to base building

What is an office refurbishment?
